Ye Olde Life Drawings

Because I said I would post life drawings here, have some tits and dicks.













But no in all honesty I absolutely love life drawing, I just wish I was better at it and could do it more often. Every model I've had the pleasure of drawing has been completely unique and a joy to translate onto the canvas.













Each of them are absolutely beautiful in their own unique ways, so I only hope I could catch some of their beauty in these illustrations.












These sketches and Illustrations range from late 08 to late 09, so sadly nothing recent here. I'll hopefully be back in a life drawing group at my school during the coming semesters.


I've had the pleasure of trying my hands at many different mediums during my life drawings, but lead pencils and charcoal pencils still remain my favorites. I suppose I like to be a bit of a control freak when it comes to my drawings.


Life drawing has given me a whole knew appreciation for structure and anatomy as a whole as well. Honestly for anyone who ever wants to improve as an artist, the first thing I always suggest is draw from life.













Definite things to work on when I go back into life drawing though definitely remains my speed, as well as proportions because dear god do I have a habit of drawing legs that go on forever. Definitely need to work on head sizes as well.


Holy shit that took like 2 hours to format.

Well I suppose it's about time I posted some shit up eh? Start out by having some art, mostly either random gifts or unfinished drabbles I never felt like uploading...
We'll start out with something drawn yesterday. Short and sweet, a picture of me being piggy backed by Vincent.



The finished Sketch for my half of a trade with NightmareHound on DA. This is about the third or fourth version of it. I finished the first one within literately the week accepting the trade, but then saw their jaw dropping half and realized that I really had to step up my game and took to redrawing it several more times.







An old crappy 15 minute scribble reference for a simplistic humanoid Rye that was going to be used for a pokemon Comic/Series Idea I had that never met fruition. I can tell it's old because he's wearing my Neon Orange Doc Martens, which I haven't worn in a good 5+ months.








This picture is actually over a year old but I still happen to very much like it. There's really not much to it other than it being a Feral male of Rei's species. Still really need to name that species...









Next up we have a Badge I had started but never finished for Vincent for FC. Yet again Pokemon themed. The idea was Vin and I were going to do Gym Leader badges, his choice of leader was Lt Surge, thus Vincent as Lt Surge in mock Sugimori style. I had also planned to do Rye as Koga, but sadly lost steam quickly.






These were a couple of further sketches to try and shape out a more possible physical figure of Jacko, my Jackolanturn Cat, sadly reality reminded me part way into it that I was wasting my time with even thinking this would get made into a figure and it pretty much killed my drive lol.





A Voodoo Axolotl based Taur, done in some wierd hybrid of my 'dragon' species. This was done about 7 months ago.










A Commission sketch for Ksilebo that has been on the backburner for the last 6 months or so while I try and collect myself and re-find my drive for arting. Still really like this sketch, but for some reason I find myself struggling to pull off even anything half this good these days.








An old Birthday gift quickly slapped together for Eevee this last year. Never uploaded because I felt bad about not doing B day gifts for all my friends last year, but I still oddly like how the wings and tail came out, the rest? Not so much.






There's more but for now this is all I'll be putting up. Not in the greatest spirits today, but I hope this was enjoyable to read/view.
